............. individually designed  gifts and home treats

Re-Loved

The idea came to me a couple of years ago while working for a home furnishing and design studio in Aylsham. I would often wonder what happened to the existing soft furnishings when we replaced curtains, blinds, etc. Many of these were still in very good condition. This is when I started thinking how I could use the redundant fabrics, the answer?  Individually designed gifts and home treats.

In Norfolk

Born in Norwich and now settled in North Norfolk with my husband and two girls, Norfolk is a very special place for me and my family. The area where we live is very inspirational, with its spectacular coast line and country side.

Lavender

You will have seen that many of the products I make have lavender in them. Lavender has the most amazing properties, ranging from an effective antiseptic to a natural antidepressant.  But my reason for using it is because I love it! It reminds me of hot summer days in the garden and my grandmother’s linen cupboard, things that always bring a smile to my face and hopefully yours too.

Fabric

Having worked in textiles for the past 15 years, I have noticed that the quality of fabric is not the same. Cost for the base cloths is escalating, as the cotton and silk harvest has been greatly affected by abnormal weather conditions. This has had a direct effect on the cost of fabric, much of which is now woven abroad. From 2010 some fabric houses saw their prices increase from 30 - 50% per metre.

With this in mind, it makes perfect sense to use some of the amazing reclaimed fabric that I already had. I have built up a wonderful collection of these fabrics, from many different sources.

All the fabric I use have had a previous life, as curtains, blinds, bedspreads or cushions; it is then carefully unpicked, trimmed of any damage, cleaned and then:

Re-Loved into individually designed gifts and home treats.
